At Operation 85 Foundation, Inc., we are supporting a historic and deeply patriotic mission — to identify the 85+ unknown U.S. Navy and Marine Corps service members who perished aboard the USS Arizona on December 7, 1941, and are buried today in unnamed graves at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu.

These brave men gave their lives in the opening moments of World War II. For over eight decades, their families have waited — some never knowing where their loved ones rest. Today, through the USS Arizona Operation 85 Project, they are on the verge of achieving what was once thought impossible: returning names to the fallen and bringing long-overdue closure to their families.

• Nationwide letter and postcard campaigns to locate surviving family members of the crew

• Research Costs to locate and organize the personnel files, medical records and other relevant documents of the entire U.S.S. Arizona crew, 

• Research, outreach, and verification needed to confirm and catalog new connections

• The tools necessary to meet the Department of Defense’s DNA threshold and initiate disinterment and identification
